Family Time, Fresh Air, and a Return to the Studio
This past week has been a little different from my usual routine, and for all the right reasons.
My brother, his wife, and their son came to visit us in Edinburgh. It was particularly special because we hadn't seen them for three years. With my sister living here too, we were able to spend time together as a family, something that doesn't happen nearly often enough.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather. Scotland certainly put on a good show for us, and we managed to enjoy a lovely barbecue at my sister's house. There was plenty of catching up, lots of laughter, and the simple joy of being together again. As I've got older, I've come to appreciate these moments more and more. Family has always been important to me, and spending time with the people you love feels especially precious when life is busy.
Because of that, I took a few days away from the studio. Sometimes it's important to step back from work and fully embrace the moments that really matter. The orders, emails, and to-do lists can wait for a day or two, but opportunities to make memories with family don't come around every day.
Unfortunately, my visitors also left me with a rather unwanted gift—a cold! Thankfully, I'm feeling much better now. I'm still a little low on energy, but I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio tomorrow and catching up on everything that has been waiting for me.
One of the things I'll be returning to is an order heading all the way to the Eden Project. Every time they place a top-up order, I get a little thrill of excitement. It's such a wonderful place, and knowing that my jewellery has a home there always feels very special.
I've also been working hard behind the scenes on my new website. It's still a work in progress, and there are a few tweaks I'd like to make, but I'm genuinely proud of how it's coming together. My aim has been to create a space that's easy to navigate, enjoyable to browse, and full of helpful information about my jewellery and the stories behind it.
If you haven't had a chance to visit yet, I'd love for you to take a look. Whether you're searching for a gift, treating yourself, or simply having a browse, I hope you'll enjoy exploring the new site.
For now, it's back to the studio, a large mug of tea close by, and a busy week ahead.
I hope you've been able to enjoy some of this lovely weather too, and perhaps spend a little time with the people who matter most to you.
Until next time,
Ilana
